What Are The Best Recommendations For Wood Burners and Stoves?

With the rising cost of gas and electricity, I decided to research wood burner stoves as these are efficient, cost effective and don't have too much impact on the environment compared to most fossil fuels. The question for me was what are the best recommendations for wood burners?

What I wanted from a wood burner was something that would throw out around 5kw of heat (enough to heat up a good sized room), a easily lit-able stove with low maintenance and something that will be classical in design so as it doesn't go out of fashion.

The wood burning experience has to be fun for me because it is a lifestyle choice. There is a real sense of satisfaction when foraging for wood, followed by the gaze of the eye whilst it flickers. The burn is like the beating of a heart in the home.

I researched reviews and prices and came up with some of the best wood burners on the market. It is here that I produce my findings of the very best recommendations.

You can see why I call the US Multi-fuel Corn/Pellet Stove the Bull Dog. It's sturdy, strong legs encompassing a wide, but effective body. Looking Stern, but classical, this little beauty might appear stubborn, but has a real warmth to it - not unlike it's furry comparison.

She is versatile and fun. Although this multi-fuel has mixed reviews, burning up all sorts of waste material can have some draw backs (or up draw!), but if you maintain this stove well, it should go on season after season.

Of course, apart from the included blower, the 6041HF can be adapted to take many other materials: cherry pits, soybeans, olive pits, processed silage and bio mass fuel grains. How good is that?

The Company England's Stove have aimed high and got there with this Wood Burning Stove. The 50-Sfp12 Wood Heater is simple in design but stylish in nature. As a mid ranger it sells fast because it does what it says on the tin!

Weighing in at only 303 pounds, it is a small but sturdy bit of kit. With its pedestal and cast iron legs, it's height is only a mere 26 inches. What a great figure of a stove this is?!
