The Winner’s Bible: Rewire Your Brain For Permanent Change by Dr Kerry Spackman, A Book Review
73Firstly let me make you aware that this is a book review by someone who has studied aspects of psychology. It is from my own knowledge that I can make a judgment to its validity.
The Winner's Bible has a lot to live up to and I have chosen this one because of my interest in psychology.
I have been aware of the great level of success that the author, Dr Kerry Spackman, has achieved with his clients over the years. Rewiring your brain can lead to permanent change but the method to do this intrigued me.
During my reading of The Winner's Bible, I realised the potential behind the book's logic. Furthermore, I have found that through his techniques of ‘self brainwashing’, it seems like it could actually work help people be the best!
This is not just another self-help book to success. It attempts to make you believe in yourself - you are the best!
The book’s instructions, as outlined by its author, Dr Kerry Spackman makes perfect sense and has worked for me.
The Winner’s Bible: Rewire Your Brain For Permanent Change looks at re-programming the mind, which, he believes, changes unwanted behaviours, thereby helping people to reach their full potential. Spackman create's a permanent change in the reader’s psyche.
This is a book review summary and is aimed to help people make an informed choice.
Resolutions? Why Do We Find It So Hard To Change?
Every day should be a day of resolution, not just for New Year but always. We should all continue to strive for happiness and well being whatever the time of year. Many of us make resolutions to give up something that may be harmful to us but our will can be weaker than our primal instinct, therefore, continue in the same vain as we have always have done. We may over indulge in the wrong types of food, gorging our way through sugary, salty and fatty products, like biscuits and crisps. Or we just can’t seem to kick that smoking habit - we know it killed off Auntie Flow and countless many others! Despite witnessing them having suffered a slow, long, lingering death, we still continue with the addiction.
The key to any addiction is to somehow change the way we think about things. If we change the way we think, our behaviours will change too. We need to re-wire our brains and allow the logical part of the brain to overrule the primitive part. Now, this is the tricky bit! How do we refuse that lovely glass of Chablis that just so easily slips down the throat – all yummy - making us feel light headed, giggly and happy? Do we really want to turn down that Belgium chocolate that makes our salivary glands ooze with pleasure just by looking at it? We yearn of that 15 second hit of melting heaven over those fine, super sensitive network of nerve endings that we call taste buds!
The Author
The Primitive Brain VS The Logical Brain
Our immediate reaction, as the visual stimulation from our eyes to our brains, is… I want, I need, satisfy me! Freud called this the id. For more information on Freud and the id, please click here. This is the survival, primitive instinct that we all have inherent within us. If we didn’t have this then we would die. Where would the first homo sapien who stepped out into a hostile environment across the African Savannah be? Extinct. It is, therefore, a necessary evolutionary construction, designed to drive us to indulge as much as possible. Our minds are wired with a primeval desire to over indulge when food is plentiful craving high calorific foods, for example. This is necessary! After all, you just don’t know when you might eat again! The Savannah, therefore, might be ripe for harvest today, but tomorrow may be a different story!
Modern day environment is different to the days of the first homo sapiens. We have adapted our environment to suit us, rather than changing the physical through evolutionary adaptation. What is evolution? Click here for information.
The point here is that we have a clash of the primitive brain vs the logical, more developed, brain. We know what is not good for us, logically, but our primitive brain say: 'Don't care...Want It... Now!' and the overwhelming urges overtake what we see as logical.
This is the point Dr Spackman 'highlight's in The Winner's Bible. There is a difference in knowing what is good for you but it is putting it into practice is the difficult thing..
So, how do we learn to re-wire our brains and is this possible?
The Winner’s Bible: Rewire Your Brain For Permanent Change is a self-help book especially written by Neuroscientist Dr Kerry Spackman. This is already a best selling book in New Zealand and quickly gaining this status for the rest of the world. Dr Spackman developed a way of empowering people with a step-by-step comprehensive set of instructions that will help you to rewire your brain. It is easy knowing what to do to change, rather like my smoking example, but it is doing it that creates difficulties. This will help the reader to permanently rewire the brain – a technique pioneered for World Champions for which Spackman has been famously renowned. So, by example, from the testimonials and reputations that he has received, this is a proven method.
Dr Spackman explains why our brains are wired in the way that they are and provides you with the skills to change this. The title ‘The Winner’s Bible: Rewire Your Brain For Permanent Change’ suggests that taking control of the brain and re-programming, it leads to a person who becomes a winner in life. If you use the techniques he suggests, the book, or what he terms the Bible, will rewire your brain. This in turn leads to a permanent change in YOU! You will then achieve your full potential in all aspects of your life.
Now you have read this free book summary, why not do your self a favour and change your life?!
