Poems; Free Poetry; Poetry Reading; Poem About Atlantis, Gia and Armageddon - A Second Chance
63Look here for free poetry!
In this series we focus on poetry reading to enthral and amaze - so take a look at the many other poems on offer!
In this edition, I have created this literature about the lost city of Atlantis.
A bit different to the usual themes, I agree, but this myth and legend just will not go away!
Gia, our earth mother, for whom we would not exist, is ravaged and plundered.
Some still think that if and when Atlantis existed on the earth plane, that it suffered an armageddon of its own.
Perhaps we have been given a second chance... or perhaps not?
I will leave this for you to decide, but please open your mind and your heart to this poem!

Atlantis, Gia and Armageddon - A Second Chance
Our planet that was raped and burned,
Cried out, 'will they never learn?'
But every man just said, 'this isn't really my concern.'
And so the mother earth did bleed,
Her spirit crying in her need.
Her forests that were stripped away,
Her poisoned oceans, that hid decay.
The spirits of the stars did hear, the crying of their sister Gia,
They came to heal her wounds and mend,
The ravages of wicked men.
Then the mighty paw of god,
Smote Man, from the planet's sod,
And laid him low, and let him see,
The things that they have wrought on thee.
The thunder clouds did roll and peel,
And lightening forked, and stabbed and reeled.
The oceans rose and rain did pour,
And quenched out all the human sore.
But in her pity, Earth did plead,
To save a few, to save the seed.
And so the mighty paw of god, did stay,
From casting everything away.
And gave another chance to Man,
Another season, another plan.
And so Atlantis, proud and tall,
Sank deep within the oceans maw,
But will we learn from their mistake,
Or is it even now, too late.

Poetry Reading That Is Different
Well, I did tell you that this poetry reading was a bit different, didn't I? Free poetry comes in different guises - even when Armageddon and the destruction of the earth is concerned. Dear Gia has been through many changes during it's years of existence. A civilization has been built and, like everything, dies. Within this comes a rebirth into something new. Perhaps without the fall of Atlantis, we would not be where we are today? Are we due for another Armageddon? Is now the time to change what we have built today for it to encompass a new tomorrow? These questions are all subjective and it is up to you to search your heart for the truth.

Voted up, time to take care of what we have!
Today we had another rig blow up in the Gulf - sabotage, accident who knows - but then I read your poem makes it all very eerie.
