Hubpages Com: 100: Hub Special: Spreading the Looooove!
60100 hubs. I can’t actually believe that I have got this far from just a click on the Google search engine. What was I looking for? I wanted to become a gig review writer for new up and coming British Indie bands. I have an ear for something special. Bands like Arcade Fire, The National, The Maccabees, Joy Division, Iliketrains, British Sea Power and well… many more are typical in the type of music that rocks my boat - as you can see on the page of myspace.
The video here is Arcade Fire's 'Wake Up' from their 'Funeral' debut album. I have followed and cited this band as 'the next big thing' long before they achieved this. The video here is filmed in my home town. This festival gives me access to many up and coming new bands. However, I frequent many a 'dive' in the attempt to find the next allusive indie band.
One band that have come out from one of these dark, smelly holes are Editors and since those days, I have watched the babies grow into the band they are today. The Glastonbury festival video by Editors is called 'All Sparks' from their debut 'The Back Room'. I remember in my experience with dealing with an angry customer at the local garage the thing that got me through was thinking 'wait.. all sparks die out in the end'. If you want to read what happened please click here.
Now, as this is my 100th celebration hub, I feel it is fitting to show the extent of rock that inhabits this 'rock chick'.
Here is Interpol's Obstacle 1 - I LOVE THIS! It is soooo me!
Hubpages: 100: Interpol Obstacle 1
Hubpages: Write what you know! Asperger's Autism and a Gluten Free Diet
I vaguely remember, sometime ago, stumbling on Hubpages when seeking a recipe for a gluten free Christmas cake and have since used this for my Asperger’s Son (not to wrap around his head - I'm not the greatest cook in the world - more to eat!). He has a wheat intolerance. This, it appears, is typical for people with asperger’s syndrome and the diet has helped him. So, it was not a surprise, that I found myself not only writing articles to do with music, but this condition too. Hubpages advocates ‘write what you know’, so what started out as a narrow subject, soon turned into more. You can see my hub on Asperger’s Autism, A Gluten Free and Casein Free Diet by clicking here.
Hubpages: SEO, Gurus and Amazon Cookies
Before I knew it, I found myself publishing stories that I had written from times past, learned all about SEO (yes, I now know what this is – Search Engine Optimisation!), back linking and marketing – Nelle Hoxie is guru to this, so learn by her! What would I have done without the help of hubpages gurus? Some have been tough cookies (Amazon cookies? Hehehe), some have just been damned sexy! *Wink* So if you are a newbie and you are looking for some reliable guidance, check these guys out, take what they say and learn by them.

Hubpages: Forum Banter - Cagsil
The forum banter is a great way to have fun and relax. I try and keep out of the way of religious forums – I believe in my truth, but respect yours! However, the love is out there and each and every person is special. I have a special regard for Cagsil (there is a profile link below to click on). He has been thoughtful and a true inspiration to others – a man that brings the hub of the community together. I will always cherish his Valentine’s day hub, where he honoured the ladies of Hubpages - Thanks Caggie for Spreading the Loooove!
You've Got To Change The World.. And Use This Chance To Be Heard... Your TIME IS NOW!
Hubpages: Hmrjmr1 - oh 'muse' of mine
Hmrjmr1 (below nominee number 116) has been a right little old star. He calls me his ‘muse o mine’ (am I THAT funny? Lol). He is such a kind, considerate man and any lady would feel safe with him around. He is a good writer too, so worth checking him out! Thank you for celebrating my 300 fans with this forum post, dear friend. Thank you for sharing the loooove!
Hubpages: The Return of the Hubtribe
Happy hippy Mega1 always makes me chuckle. She was the creator of the tribe thread, you know! People took to this like a duck to water (quack, quack). This is a happy hippy thread where Denno66 (below nominee number 107) tends to be used as the sacrificial lamb (the only sheep happy to be used for tribal sustenance, I may add! Miss you mate, but I know you are around!). The success of this thread has been phenomenal. It is a place where you can go and chill – no attacking, just happy, happy, happy! Mega1 was so overwhelmed with the response to this thread, that she wrote a hub about it. Click here to view.
Thanks Mega and all who take part in the hubtribe (too many
to mention) for sharing the looove. This one is for the hub tribe!
Hubpages: Cosette is the Cool Cat
Cosette (below nominee 50), the pillar of our community and much loved by her followers, has been sharing the looove for some time now. The hub introductions have been a blast and, even if I hadn’t been chosen by Cosette to feature in one of her hubs, ‘Still More Cool Hubbers’. I would still have followed her progress – seeking the unsung talent of hubpages!
Many of us have never got picked for hubnuggets or promoted on the front page, so to bring us to the people was an endearing and thoughtful gesture. Cosette is an inspiration and practices the ethics of hubpages – to share the looove and be an active member of the community. This one is for you Cosette!
Hubpages: Our Aevans is a true Star!
Talking of kindly pillars of the community, Aevans has been a darling. She has spread the loooove too! She put in all the hard work to gather information on newbie hubbers and created ‘Top 200 New Hubbers In 2009 The Nominees Are’.
I want to add that all of these hubbers I have the honour of knowing and wish to share the loooove too.

Hubpages: Calling Number 14!
No 14? Well that was dear Lyricsingray. She has closed her account and will no longer be with us anymore. Even though she isn’t at Hubpages, I want to honour her here – thanks mate! Keep spreading the looove wherever that will be! Get well soon!
Talking about ‘Get Well Soon’, as ‘rock chick extraordinare’, one of my hobbies is collecting hugs and kisses from bands. I have had hugs and kisses from Editors, Franz Ferdinand, Glasvegas, Nobel out of British Sea Power, Jarvis Cocker (his beard tickled!), The Boxer Rebellion, Dresden Dolls, Thom Yorke of Radiohead, John Taylor of Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, The National, Iliketrains and more.
I mentioned ‘Get Well Soon’ because I just happen to like their music and it was a good link! In fact my hub on Witches and Herbal Remedies features one of their songs. Click Here
(Unfortunately at time of publishing hubpages linking has broken so here is my link: http://hubpages.com/hub/A-Witches-Cauldron-of-Herbal-Remedies-Borage-Holy-Thistle-and-Eye-of-Newt).
In my Maccabee's hub, I have cited this band as the next big thing this year. Another one to look out for is These New Puritans, although I anticipate that it might take a couple of years before they hit good. I think they are very cross genre, so you might hear them in the clubs - a bit Klaxons, if you know this band! I will be collecting a kiss and a hug soon - watch this space!
Hubpages: New Kids - These New Puritans
Hubpages - Spreading The Love
have missed a great deal of the community out, but you all have to know that it is good to spread the looove. RebeccaE did this awesome hub – Click here - so I am sharing those hubbers with you too. Green Lotus (Nominee no 35) has been an awesome follower, as has Mike Lickteig . Don’t get me wrong, this has been a two way extravaganza as I have devoured their writings avidly too.
A Tribute To Those New To Me...
I have to mention a couple of new kids on the block, simply because they are great writers, active community members and need to be shared… so here they are! Thank you for spreading the looove and commenting on my articles.
There really so many of you that I want to commend for your interaction with me and making my life better – I know I am going to kick myself after I have published this for those who I have left out! For that, let me apologies in advance.
Hubpages: And Onto the Next 100!
This hub is one that I shall not make money on – I know that! But as I enter into the next 100, I will be more confident and progressed as a product of the last 100. These hubs have taught me much about spreading the loooove and how important people are to hub pages as a whole. For we make hub pages what it is today. We ARE Hub pages! Sure it is a business concern but by sharing and being actively involved, linking up for the mutual good, it helps work toward the greater good. We should be working as a team to build upon hub pages success. In doing this, we are helping ourselves. This isn’t just about what people believe as ‘karma’, it is the nature of a successful community and a large presence on the Internet.
So with 100 hubs on a website ranked top 100, both me and the staff at hubpages HQ has lots to celebrate! Thank you to each and every one of you for spreading the looove. Thanks to the staff at hubpages for making this possible and congratulations to you too. I saw this, and thought you all might want to raise a glass to us all! Keep spreading the loooove!
Hubpages Staff Celebrate Top 100
Thank you Hubpages staff for my nomination 'Seniors Health: Aerobics; Water, Sitting and Senior Solutions'.
Now we have created a golden circle around us, let’s go and spread the loooove!

Here's to the next 100!
- The rose bud and the nugget by Shazwellyn (originally written with Faybe Bay in mind for her hubnugget nomination)
Once there was a young rose who felt lonely in the garden. She was one of the first. As the sun beat down on her, how she wished she could grow toward the sun - to be higher than the birds and taller than the trees.
One day, she saw a book. "What's this?" she asked. The breeze of the wind blow the pages over and there on the page it said... 'Hubpages, Chapter 1". It was there that she wrote on great subjects of interest and, as she wrote, she found friends in the pages of the book. At last she wasn’t lonely anymore! All the happy pages smiled at her and honoured her - for she was, indeed, honourable.
It was then, on page 101 in the first chapter, that she saw it. Beaming from the page was the sun and under the sun was a golden nugget. This one is for you, sweet rose, bend forward and take your place on the page of the sun.
The rose's wish came true. There she was with proud nugget in leaf as the sun surrounded her being. The beautiful red rose was higher than the birds and taller than the trees and from the pages there was a glow for all to see.
