Right, you will now need to open up a web page on your browser.

• Go to the amazon.com or amazon.co.uk homepage.

• Click on ‘Shop All Departments’ advertised in orange. Here, on the next page, you will see lists of categories and sub categories.

• Click on the desired category. For example, I clicked on ‘Video Games’. In the URL address bar, highlight, right click your computer mouse or pad and choose the ‘copy’ option. You can also perform this action by pressing Ctrl + C.

Have a ‘word-type’ or word processing document page already open.

Paste this code onto your open word processing page. To paste: You will need to right click your computer mouse or pad and select the ‘paste’ option. You can also perform this action by pressing Ctrl + V.

Going back to my ‘video games’ example, this is what I got. The same rule goes with whatever your desired category is:

Now, I will dissect some of this code with this example. You just do the same with your code, but first let me explain the first part of the code.

Now, the highlighted first part of the code is self-explanatory. You have the main amazon url address – amazon.com. It has a follow on extension characterised by a forward slash - / - then there is the category and sub-categories ‘computer video games hardware accessories’ followed by another forward slash. No spaces are allowed in the address bar, so this can be filled by either an underscore, characterised like this: _ or a hyphen, characterised by this: - .

The bold highlight is a further extension. This references and indexes an item’s page.

What we are really interested in is the number at the end of the address after ‘node=’. I made a reference to this at the beginning of the hub. This is the node code. This is amazon’s category code number. I have highlighted my example in bold below:

The number is important. It is the department’s special node code.

Now, I am going to help you with a code template for you to use and refer to. This will help you find all the bargains in your chosen category! All you will need to do is copy and paste the code into the template. You then highlight the whole code and paste it into a newly opened browser page. This will take you directly to that category’s discount page. It will search items in that category with a minimum of 75% to a maximum of 99%.
