Adsense Content Filtering, How to Filter Adsense Article Adverts
73How To Maximise Adsense
Now making money with adsense isn't as easy as it first appears. You sign up for an account. You see adsense google ads and you think that it won't be long before you earn with google too. It isn't as easy as that, is it?
There's adsense information everywhere but you feel overwhelmed by it all. So you login and attempt to manage your google adsense account.
Other users seem to manage, why can't you?
This article is an attempt to teach you how to use and manage the adsense filtering system to get rid of those unwanted adverts.
Okay it is just one piece of information amongst a load, but it is a start!
I want to make this article user friendly and teach you how to manage the adsense filtering system confidently.
To Earn From Google Adsense Requires Skill
Users have to manage adsense adverts by filtering them
Filtering adverts is one of the many tasks that are essential to successful click through rates. Clicks come from your readership. At the end of the day, it is Adsense advertisements that pay for your articles to be there in the first place. It is all very good providing quality information or wonderful stories, but an income stream has to come from somewhere even if it is just to pay for the electricity used to help create it.
Here you are and you notice a gleaming pair of teeth on an
article about Istanbul or ‘Indian Dating – Find the perfect match for you!’ on
a hub about rocket science. It is a
complete waste of space, not only for you but the advertiser too… surely?! Users have to manage these and filter them out of their articles.
Users Manage To Filter via Adsense Set Up Tab
Log into your Google Adsense account. You can do this via your Hubpages ‘My Account’. Under ‘Affiliate Settings’ and ‘Check Your Google Earnings’
After you have logged into your account, look under the ‘Adsense Set up’ tab you will see ‘Competitive Ad Filter’. Click on this. Scroll down under ‘Adsense For Content Filters’ – there you will see a blank box.

Be Aware.. Click Fraud! Adsense will Close Your Account even if you accidently click on an Ad!
Now, go back to article window containing the offending Adsense ad. Right click and highlight the address bar of the ad and copy the link. This is tricky because part of the terms of service, or TOS, in your Adsense contract states that you mustn’t click on the adverts fraudulently – even by mistake could be considered fraudulent, so be careful here. Any suggestion of click fraud and Adsense will close your account without explanation!
Return to your Google Adsense page and paste the address into the box. Save the changes and you are done!

Now the following video has an example of how it is done in a visual context. I hope that this will help to clarify the procedure. The example is to demonstrate the procedure and not for political or religious interest. I chose this because it is easy to understand. Sounds kinda nerve wracking...
shazwellyn-
How do you know which ads to filter? Also, I signed up for she told me and...something else, but I can't figure out how to copy the url they give me to my hub, am I doing something wrong? Can you tell I'm very new at this?
Thanks,
Cassidy
I must admit I'm a bit lost with this, so I will bookmark it for future use. Thanks for sharing
You are just wonderful explaining this Shaz, thanks so much now I understand it all a little better.
Two months here and I still consider myself an extreme newbie...and will probably remain thus way even in two years! I really appreciate this helpful hub and slowly, ever so slowly, am beginning to understand the intricacies of hub life!
Thanks for a great hub, Shaz!
Very useful information. Im going to bookmark it for the future. Im going to have to go through my ads that never get clicked and see if I can fix some.
Hi Shaz I did the filtering thing a while back on my e-cigarette hubs because I didn't want dodgie e-cig ads on the page. It worked for a while, but then they came back so I think you need to do regular maintenance on your adsense stuff. I've been way too slack on all my other hubs so I will use your great easy guidelines to get things eliminated. Thanks again for a valuable Hub.
good info thanks
Hi shaz. Checked my adsense account and I stand corrected. It seems it takes a while for the system to get going. Also, so many new ads are slipped in to replace the ones I deleted!
One good thing I just discovered is the filter block link for those ads that don't have a link. Just right click the offending title and it shows up as "adblock plus adframe". They disappear immediately! Thanks for getting me going on this! My aim is to block competing vendors since I am promoting Green Smoke on my e-cig sites.
Thank you so much, this really helps!
Just give ya a big thumbs up and must add ya to my Facebook wen I get home x
